Francesco Totti has won the hearts of people, not only from Rome, but from all over the world. The 40 year old forward is touted as one of the most loyal footballing icons, and is proudly named the ‘King of Rome’ by the Giallorossi supporters. The latest person who has come out to praise the legend is none other than his teammate Edin Dzeko.

The Europa League Facebook page recently held a Q&A session where Edin Dzeko answered facebook users’ questions in the comments.

When questioned about his favourite thing about the Roma captain Totti, Dzeko replied:

“When you see Francesco Totti, he is a legend. Not only in Rome and at Roma, but all over the world. When you sit next to him and play with him, you realise how normal and down-to-earth he is. You would never think he is such a big star. He’s down-to-earth. He doesn’t think he’s better than everyone else, he treats everyone well and he is very positive. Sometimes it’s more difficult to simply be a good man, but he is a legend in every possible respect.”

The in-form Dzeko has scored 8 goals in his 6 Europa League appearances this season, and bagged 2 assists. Dzeko has had a hand in 33 goals in 31 matches across all competitions this season. He is tied with Gonzalo Higuain as the top scorer in the Serie A.

Totti, however, was not named when Dzeko was asked about his childhood idol. The Bosnia and Herzegovina captain wrote, when asked about his childhood idol:

“Andriy Shevchenko. He was very special for me. I still remember the game where he scored a hat-trick against Barcelona at Camp Nou. He was number one for me.”

Roma have went on to the next stage of the Europa League after knocking out Villarreal, and have been pitted against Olympique Lyonnaise in the recent round-of-16 draw.
