Bayern Munich youngster Joshua Kimmich has put club all over Europe in alert after he revealed his frustration about limited game time in a recent interview. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the 22-year-old and wants him at the club, accroding to Manchester Evening News.

Veterans such as Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna are out of contract in the summer and Kimmich would be an ideal addition to the squad as the versatile midfielder can play in the defence too. Guardiola worked with Kimmich in his Bayern days and believes the youngster has “absolutely everything”.

However, he has been used sparingly Carlo Ancelotti this season and Kimmich voiced his frustations –

“It does not matter whether I understand it or not. The fact is I’m not satisfied with it and I want to change it. The coach knows I can play as a number six and at right-back, also in the centre of defence. From that he has many options to use me. I know my weaknesses and work on them – especially when I’m not playing, I try to do more. In the Bundesliga we have a good lead now and maybe (the team) will be rotated.”

It would be a sensible decision to stay put at Bayern as the retirement of Phillip Lahm would provide Kimmich with an opportunity to make the right-back berth his own. However, Guardiola will surely try everything to tempt the German to switch Munich for Manchester.
