Aad de Mos insists Wilfred Ndidi will sign for a big club
Former PSV coach Aad de Mos believes Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is destined for bigger things. Having signed for the Foxes in the January transfer window for a £17 million transfer deal from Genk, the Nigerian has impressed in his first couple of months in England.
Soccer Nieuws reported Dutchman De Mos’s comments after Leicester’s win over Sevilla. The former PSV coach was impressed with the midfielder’s performances in the 2-0 win over Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday. Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, Leicester City fought hard with a tight defence, compact midfield and an attack which pushed Sevilla all through the game. Ndidi was pivotal to the Foxes’s historic win. De Mos believes the midfielder showed on the night what a good player he is, and that he plays with maturity. He went on to say the youngster can take the next step in his career by signing for a big club.
“Ndidi always keeps it simple. He’s a boy with a lot of qualities, hats off to him. The big clubs will come in for him, I’m convinced of that”
Ndidi was brought in to fill the gap left by former Leicester City and current Chelsea midfielder, N’golo Kante who was instrumental in helping the club win the Premier League title last year. Leicester have felt his absence this season and have endured a terrible Premier League campaign, involved in a relegation battle for most part of it, only to find resurgence under interim manager Craig Shakespeare. It remains to be seen how Leicester and Ndidi perform in the remaining months of the season and whether the Nigerian will be a subject of interest for the top clubs in the summer transfer window.
