Sergio Ramos tells Cristiano to stop throwing tantrums
Real Madrid beat the Basque club Athletic Club 2-1 away from home to move back to the top of La Liga ahead of Barcelona with a game in hand. Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the first half. Bilbao veteran Aritz Aduriz equalised in the 65th minute but Casemiro got the winner just 3 minutes later.
However, Zidane made a bold move of substituting Cristiano Ronaldo in the 79th minute which definitely did not work well for Ronaldo. Fuming after being substituted, the Portuguese was very unhappy having to spend the last 11 minutes on the bench. Real Madrid captain however was very unhappy with Ronaldo’s reaction and spoke to him regarding this. The Spain international told Ronaldo to quit the tantrums and focus on helping the club win the title.
Real Madrid are in a comfortable position sitting on top of the Spanish League ahead of closest competitor and defending champions FC Barcelona. 2 poins clear at the top with a game still in hand, Real Madrid look set to win the La Liga. However, it’s not going to be easy for the Los Blancos in the Champions League having drawn the Bavarians, Bayern Munich in the quarter finals. Beating an in form Napoli 6-2 on aggregate is not easy, so it is going to interesting clash against Bayern who themselves thrashed Arsenal 10-2 on aggregate. Real Madrid exited the Copa del Rey and without the pressure of another competition, the Los Blancos can concentrate on winning the Liga and defending the Champions League trophy.
Ronaldo’s form has dipped since the start of the 2016-17 season. The Portuguese had a brilliant last season but hasn’t been able to reflect the form this season. While Ronaldo does agree to Ramos’s advice it would definitely be beneficial to the Galacticos. Ronaldo has been most influential player for them, and an in form Ronaldo would help them in their title defence a long way.
